BENEFITING: Direct Relief
My friend wagered that I couldn't run across the Sahara desert. This would require carrying a 35b pack of all my supplies and running almost 200 miles for six days straight. My buddy assured me it wasn't so much the distance, but the searing heat that would do me in (the Sahara has recorded temperatures above 130° F or 54° C). Dreamt up by a mad Frenchman in 1984 it's called the Marathon des Sables and it is dubbed the toughest race on Earth.
This event has laid waste to some of the top athletes in the world and some have died in the attempt. Not something I really wanted to do, but because he put a sizable amount on the table I decided to take the bet and give my winnings to charity.

My friend was willing to put up money to see if I could survive the Sahara. I figured others might do so also. Any contribution you can give will help and ALL MONEY RAISED WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHARITY.
