Allstate's Purple Purse Challenge is designed to ignite public awareness and fundraising to benefit our organization's financial empowerment services that benefit domestic violence survivors. For the past 3 years, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October), the Purple Purse has encouraged campaigns that help people understand domestic violence, the prevalence of financial abuse, and the promise of financial empowerment services to help end abuse. The Rape and Domestic Violence Information Center(RDVIC) has been selected as one of two hundred state and local nonprofit organizations throughout the Unites States to partner with the Allstate Foundation in order to pursue a better understanding of domestic violence and abuse. This fundraiser will benefit survivors and members of your community directly, and will help empower survivors nationwide. Since 2005, the Allstate Foundation has contributed more than $35M to help break the cycle of domestic violence through financial empowerment. Since then, the foundation has trained more than 7,200 advocates (including 2 at RDVIC) from 1500 nonprofits throughout the country to provide financial empowerment services to more than 384,000 survivors. With your help and generosity, we can greatly increase the number of survivors who receive this vital and truly beneficial service.
