Mutts Matter Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non profit, all volunteer based organization, with combined rescue experience of over 15 years. The organization works in conjunction with shelters and other organizations, to help save animals on death row, the strays on the street, or ones in unsafe living conditions. Whenever possible MMR also assists dogs who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners. MMR adopts in the DC, VA, and MD areas, with a few exception out of the tri-state area depending on the dog and situation. Mutts Matter is driven by love, compassion, and hope.
Over 11 million dogs and cats are euthanized every year in the U.S. They are healthy, adoptable pets whose only fault is that they don’t have a place to call home. Mutts Matter rescue dogs are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love, and any medical attention that may be required to insure that they are in good health before adoption. All dogs are spayed or neutered, brought up-to-date on vaccines, and micro-chipped, before being placed in their new homes. MMR dogs are evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs, and to the needs of their future owners. MMR's ultimate goal is to give hope and save the lives of dogs, while helping reduce the euthanasia rate.
If you know of anyone who would like to bring home a new furry family member, we hope that you will spread the word about Mutts Matter Rescue and encourage people to rescue. With enough hard work and dedication, MMR hopes to be able to empty the shelters one day soon.
