BENEFITING: HILTON HEAD ISLAND DEEP WELL PROJECT
EVENT DATE: Aug 31, 2015
The Deep Well Project has been helping islanders since 1973. It's the islands charity! The organization was founded by Charlotte Heinrichs as a service to locals who suffered illness as a result of drinking contaminated water from shallow wells. Needs evolved and so did Deep Well (as it's known on the Island). Helping people in emergency situations by giving them an immediate hand up, so they can continue to help themselves. It could be a rent payment between jobs, or food for the family when the cupboard runs bare and cash has all but run out. Or school uniforms for children. Or repairing a floor or building a much-needed new wheel chair ramp.
THE DEEP WELL PROJECT'S MISSION: HELP NEIGHBORS IN NEED BY PROVIDING BASIC ASSISTANCE IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. THIS ASSISTANCE IS IMMEDIATE AND NON-BUREAUCRATIC, INTENDED TO PROVIDE CLIENTS WITH A "HAND UP, NOT A HAND OUT."
