In October 2016, 10 men and women will take on the journey of a lifetime: "TREKKING for EDUCATION."
This team of like minded multi-generational people will trek up all 19,341 feet of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, to fulfill both their own personal goals and to raise funds in support of a wonderful secondary school in rural Ngomano, Kenya - Clay International Secondary School. The School celebrated its 10 year anniversary in June 2015 and has graduated 250+ students, many of whom are now attending or have graduated University or College in Kenya.
Together we are trekking Mt Kili for PROJECT EDUCATION KENYA, INC., the charity that fully funds and supports The Clay International Secondary School.
We are not seeking support for the cost of our trip. We are each personally taking responsibility for these costs.
HELP US…CHANGE THE LIVES of some truly wonderful young students who otherwise would not have access to secondary education because of extreme hardship where they live. Each of us is passionate about the importance of education and excited about ‘doing our bit’ to help. We are helping to provide an education to these promising and motivated students who have demonstrated that school is very much a vehicle to overcoming poverty in remote and challenged rural communities such as Ngomano, Kenya.
JOIN US…HELP US each raise $.52 cents per foot we climb over 8 days. Our team goal is to raise $100,000 in total.
DONATIONS..WILL BE USED… the first $5,000 will provide funds for a much needed water catchment system for the girls dorm…the next $25,000 will provide funds to build a boys dorm with a water catchment system … the next $50,000 will provide a much needed school bus... FINALLY… any additional funds will allow us to build up our reserves for future capital or operational needs.
