BENEFITING: PROJECT PURPLE
ORGANIZER: PROJECT PURPLE
Hello, my name is Kalani and my late mother-in-law, Julie Wylie, had the courage and strength to fight pancreatic cancer. Diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on December 1st, 2015, she fought with everything she had until she was called by the big guy himself on May 28th, 2017. She participated in many different clinical trials throughout her fight, and lived her life to the absolute fullest. She believed her role in the clinical trials would help pave the way for the teams at Honor Health research hospital to find a cure to this ugly cancer.
My wife and I have been active in half-marathon's and triathlons over the last three years, and this year we decided to honor Julie by raising awareness, funds, and running the Rock and Roll marathon. Her courage and strength through this whole ordeal has made me realize that if she can do all that she did while being plagued with this cancer, that I too could overcome my fears and weakness' and complete the full 26.2 mile run. My wife and I each are aiming to raise $1000 by the time race day comes around to fund a wonderful organization known as Project Purple. I look forward to this challenge, and most importantly, I am honored to fundraise for Project Purple because of all their efforts to bring awareness of this cause to communities across the country. We would be humbled and ever-grateful for your donation, no matter how big or small.
