Have you ever been foiled in a tense trivia matchup? Was there ever one random question that ended your quest for glory? Well, if the Price is Write, you can cheat your way to victory.
Join us for our 2nd Annual "Price is Write" event, and first-ever trivia fundraiser. You will register individually, or as a team. ($10 per person).
Then, you can fundraise as much money as possible to help not just Greenville Wordsmiths...but your trivia team's chances at VICTORY.
On the night of the event, you will be able to redeem the money you've raised for "cheat cards" to use throughout your trivia experience. They are as follows:
$25: Use your smartphone for 30 seconds (max. 2 per round).
$50: Cancel points for another team's answer (max. 1 per round / must be used before correct answers are revealed).
$75: Write "Come On Down" and get full points for one answer (max. 1 per round).
$100: Silence another team for a full round (1 use only).
$125: Look at another team's answers for a full round (1 use only).
$150: Use your smartphone for an entire round (1 use only).
$250: Double your points for a full round (1 use only).
Trivia rounds will include traditional price-guessing; books and authors; game show history; and - finally - questions written by our very own students. Prizes TBA, but they will be festive and fabulous!
The tournament is limited to 25 four-person teams (100 people), so register soon! $10 entry fee includes trivia participation; light snacks; and a few sneaky surprises.
Greenville Wordsmiths is a 501c3 that empowers kids to discover & share their voices through the craft of writing. 100% of proceeds will benefit their 2019-2020 writing clubs.
In writing club, Greenville students ages 9-13 meet twice each month to brainstorm...write...throw away...re-write...edit...scratch out...write...edit again...and finally publish a collection of short stories and poetry. 1/4 of spots are reserved for students with learning differences.
