Hi. My name is Stephanie and I need your help. I have received some serious bad luck over the last year and a half. Before you read about the spirialing madness my life has become let me give you a little bit of background about myself. I've been married to my wife for a little over 5 years now, together for eleven years, and in that time we've been the best people we can be. We were making pretty decent money so we would use the spare funds to make care bags for the homeless. In it we'd put some food, pet food if they had pets and some necessities like a toothbrush and hand sanitizer. We also donated time helping out at our local food bank and just doing what we could to be good people. We helped four friends get on their feet by allowing them a rent free place to stay for a few months, have rescued a variety of animals in the neighborhoods we've lived in, and have just done what we can to make our corner of this rock a little more friendly.
Over all it was great.
While celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary my wife and I were rear ended by a vehicle. Thankfully she wasn't seriously injured but I was. I received a bulging disk in my l4-l5 vertebrae from the accident.
Thankfully I could still work. It was painful but I pushed through it.
This year on December 13, 2014 we'll be celebrating our 11th year anniversary. Yes, 11 on 12/13/14. I was super excited about the overtime I had set up before the second accidnent to continue to save for my wife's dream for us to renew our vows. Unfortunetly on December 20th 2012 we were in another car accident, this one left me with a herniated disk. For bonus points it is pushing on my sciatic nerve causing temporary sporadic loss of control to my leg. I've been unable to work since. In the last few months we've burned through emergency savings, credit cards, and finally our party funds. We're still not able to pay all our bills. We're sinking and the water just keeps rising. My focus however is the fact that I really and truly want to give my sweetheart the party she deserves for putting up with me this long.
But it's not all depression and hopelessness. There's a light at the end of the tunnel. With luck the settlement from the car accident should arrive in 3 or so months so it may arrive before December 13th! If there's anything left after medical bills and attorney fees are paid of course. I hope there's something left. If I understand Washington state law the max amount paid is $50,000 per accident (not per person) and I have a lot of medical bills. Spinal injections alone are $2,000 each and I've had three. Who knows what everything else adds up to. We've hired an attorney so fingers crossed!
Thank you for taking the time to read about my dreams.
