BENEFITING: Alma Mater Education
THE STORY:
Alma Mater Education is embarking on Phase 2 of our first Sustainable School Project in Ghana! And we need your support to make this work! We want to reach as many students as possible who would otherwise never receive an education. Help us achieve our goal of $60,000 to reach 280 students each year.
Phase 1 of the project was a huge success — we built teaching space for 120 students, a library, an office, a staff room and a washroom. We also started an Organic School Farm, which is now enjoying a beautiful harvest! We've just finished end-of-term exams for our first batch of students, and need to make room for our second batch!
Phase 2 will mean creating more teaching space for an additional 280 students. This means:
• 5 basic classrooms
• 2 eco-classrooms
• 1 fully-stocked library
• 1 fully-equipped science lab
We had originally planned for an extra 120 students, but student demand for spots at our school has been through the roof and we've expanded to meet this demand.
This unexpected increase in our student capacity will allow us to achieve financial self-sufficiency one year early! That. is. amazing! And we need $60,000 to make this happen.
All support, big or small, will make a real contribution to providing a future for the children of Wioso. Please donate whatever you can and as a 'thank you', we will create a mural on the outside of one of the new classrooms with your name on it.
From Alma Mater Education and the students of Wioso Senior High School: Medaase paaa! (Thank you so so much!)
