I would like you to meet an amazing woman ... beautiful, smart, tough, funny, selfless and so much more! This is my Aunt Diane. She also happens to have Parkinson's. I admire this woman more than she could ever know. So much so, that I am dedicated to once again lacing up my tennis shoes to run the Pittsburgh half-marathon for the Parkinson Foundation of Western Pennsylvania (PFWPA) in her honor. Yes, that is 13.1 miles! I run to celebrate my Aunt Diane and the incredible role model that she is for all women! Parkinson’s is a chronic disease but is one that does not have to zap your zest for living. My aunt is strong, active and even helping other woman through support, encouragement and group activities. My Aunt Diane if founder of the Pittsburgh Women with Parkinson's Disease Support Group. This group is now one of the many resources available through the PFWPA. Like my aunt, I want to help those in our community who have Parkinson’s. I will run for the PFWPA because they help hundreds of people, all year long, with coaching, friendship, education, exercise, stress relief programs and so much more!!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your donation! Thank you for supporting me, helping to honor my incredibly special aunt, and for helping all our neighbors who are in need of connection and support.
now... let the training begin! :)

This is our first year as an Official Charity with the Marathon! We are so excited to get things rocking and rolling. If you run, or know anyone who does, send them our way. We'll welcome them with open arms. They will be helping our local neighbors impacted by Parkinson's and allow us to support our 23 local monthly support groups, develop and deliver cool programs like yoga, boxing, and care giver stress relief. Together, we will replace anxiety with hope.
