Peter Sparks' Eagle Project
Organized by: Peter Sparks
EVENT DATE Apr 23, 2016
THE STORY:
I have loved gardening almost as long as I have loved scouting. Some of my earliest memories are of me going on my brothers' campouts before I was old enough to be a cub scout and planting carrots in a little patch of dirt in my backyard. When I was ready to do my Eagle Project I wanted to do something to help others pick up my passion of gardening, so I went to the Evanston Community Gardens to see what I could do to help. Right now all of their tools are sitting in a broken wheelbarrow. We are going to build storage chests so that their tools will no longer be exposed to the elements, keeping them in better condition for longer. We are building two storage chests that are going to be at the McCormick and James Park community gardens. I would love your support through a donation of any size or by having you volunteer on April 23rd and April 24th.
