Thanks for your interest in helping students take FLYTE!
I’m incredibly blessed to serve on the Board of this organization and am excited to be raising money for Anacostia High School's summer trip to Cuba. This trip relies heavily on the support from generous donors like you. Donations directly fund the flights, accommodations, meals, and other associated costs for the students and their chaperones.
It is hard to find a group of students who are more deserving of this trip. They live in an area just outside our nation’s capital, where crime rates are high and graduation rates are low, and in circumstances that prevent them from seeing opportunities beyond their immediate neighborhood.
Their teacher, Ms. Kathrine Avila beautifully describes her students in her application: “Our students are strong. They hold a rare bravery that is not displayed in their peers the same age across the nation. The character my students possess pushes me to serve the community with excellence and oftentimes forces me evaluate my own mindset. Out of the many students I have interacted with, Anacostia students far surpass their peers.”
As I described in greater detail here, I believe travel is the ultimate privilege. As a long time education advocate, this organization combines two of my greatest passions – education & travel and I'm proud to be a part of it.
Like many of you reading this, I have been given the chance to work towards my individual goals and ambitions, now it’s our chance to empower these students to become global citizens to see that there’s more to the world, to realize that they can dream big and change their lives and our world in meaningful ways.
Please join me in this effort by donating today!!
