At Pasadena Day Nursery, we try to be affordable to as many families as possible. That means that we will be spending over $20,000 this year on need-based subsidies for PDN families. That includes special subsidy support for our teachers who have their own children at PDN.
We are hoping to fund 10% of our subsidy program through this winter fundraiser. Gifts of all sizes are needed and appreciated. Thank you for directly supporting the most important part of PDN: our families!
Here's more info:
Let's face it...child care is expensive. Especially the kind of care children receive at PDN. We provide a higher number of caregivers per child than most places, there is ample indoor and outdoor space and we're open from early in the morning until dinner time. None of this has ever come cheap, but in this tough economy we are finding that more and more families need help. We provide need-based subsidies because it seems like the right thing to do but also because we know that every child at PDN benefits from getting to know and become friends with every other child at PDN. We don't want anyone to have to leave PDN because they can't afford it and so this year we have fully expended our subsidy budget to support already-enrolled families whose financial circumstances have changed.
