EVENT: Saving Pets Challenge 2015

THE STORY:

PawsCo is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation with a comprehensive approach. PawsCo includes three divisions: PawsCo Spay/Neuter, PawsCo Pet Food Drive and PawsCo AdoptionsPawsCo was created in July 2013. PawsCo is a foster-based rescue in Colorado and surrounding areas that focuses on pulling animals in need from shelters across the state and beyond. Our team runs with the heart of a non-profit and the efficiency of a business. PawsCo is a 100% volunteer organization and only survives because of donations.

Spay/Neuter

PawsCo Spay/Neuter division provides spay and neuter services to in need, low income Colorado communities and works with the area advocates and residents to create self-sustaining spay/neuter programming.  PawsCo has just started to create a TNR program with this division.  What is TNR? Trap-Neuter-Return.  This program involves trapping community cats, getting them spay/neutered and vetted and returned to their original environment.  This is a great service as it stop future litters and maintains population control of a the community cat problem.  Kittens are absorbed into PawsCo as adoptable animals once they are cleared veterinary wise.

Pet Food Drive

PawsCo Pet Food Drive division aims to keep pets with their families by providing food through local area food banks. The ongoing drive collects dry and canned animal food and distributes the pet food to families in need through a partnership with the Food Bank of the Rockies. This continual food drive benefits other shelters in low income areas of Colorado and surrounding areas. This is another way to prevent relinquishments, reducing the number of animals in need.

Adoptions

PawsCo Adoptions division saves dogs and cats from underserved shelters, with a focus on rescuing pets in need from the state of Colorado and surrounding areas. We save animals with physical needs as well to keep them from being euthanized. The rescue is an all-breed, foster-based organization where all pets live in foster homes – rather than a shelter – until adopted.

PawsCo is a foster rescue that places animals in foster homes after a complete vetting process and works to find a quality adoptive home for each animal. The rescue strives to help our community save lives by creating a seamless, well-supported rescue process. This includes providing exceptional support to families fostering animals through the rescue, by collaborating with all rescues and shelters for the benefit of animals, and by working with the public in a respectful and efficient manner to place and retain animals in their homes. In essence, we give at-risk dogs and cats a second chance.

PawsCo is committed to being a rescue that is responsive to the needs of foster families, and adoptive families. By making the experience a positive one for all involved and drawing on the energy of the advisory team, PawsCo will put the needs of the animals first and work to ensure that it saves as many animals as possible from area shelters and place them in loving families.

Our mission is simple: Do what you can, when you can.

Adopt. Foster. Volunteer. Donate. Save Lives.

Thank you again for your support.
