I am graduating from Robert E Lee High School this spring. I have done many things in my time at Lee but the one constant is Young Life. This wonderful organization has guided me to develop my faith in ways I didn't know possible. I can genuinely say that being apart of this organizaton was the best decision of my life. The only thing I have yet to experience through Young Life is a camp. When my leader told me about this I was skeptical because of all the variables. I was intimidated by the fundraising and the mountain. After alot of prayer and talking with my leader, I know I am making the second best decision of my life.
This trip, as fun is it will be, is not about enjoyment, and that is why I believe it will be so great. On August 31, 2016 my mother passed away at the age of 56 with no previous health concerns. Since then, I have been doing my best to stay busy, and I haven't been able to heal. This trip to serve our Lord will be the healing I need, by being in his creation in the most basic form. Before though I have a goal. To raise $10,000 for the country of Palestine. This money will go towards the formation and continual development of Young Life in Palestine so that the kids in Palestine will have the same Young Life experience that I was given. This task, in all its immensity, can only be accomplished through the good graces of others, and Gods guidance and love.
