Oxnard School District and PTA’s share a common goal—ensuring excellence in our children's education. PTA’s provide funds in areas where funding is otherwise unavailable by any other means in order to improve a students’ learning experience. The PTA raises funds through events, sponsorships, direct donations and other activities. PTA’s at each school make their own decisions through the approval of their general membership with regard to spending their funds. A $100 donation could be used by PTA’s to fund: Extra music and art classes, spelling bee or speech contest, exercise or dance classes, academic clubs, and school sports. Students learn the values of teamwork, individual and group responsibility, physical strength and endurance, competition, diversity, and a sense of culture and community. A $500 donation could be used to fund a beautification project or a school garden, or provide bus transportation or entrance ticket for a field trip. Extracurricular activities provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom. Let’s show our support by donating what you can and join the cheering crowds at the Finish Line!
