Musana means sunshine.
It's also the name of an organization in Uganda that was created in 2008 after three 20-year-old woman spent a summer abroad and saw a great need to care for the orphans there. The story of this organization is incredible. Their mission is to see rural communities in Uganda develop using sustainable solutions that give HOPE and DIGNITY to the most vulnerable.
They began with nothing, and now are beacons of light in this poor and underserved area. Musana offers Nursery and Primary School to 800 students and endeavors to open a Vocational High School this year, in 2017. Among the long list of programs and sustainable solutions they offer for the greater community: skill development, a health center, and self-sustaining agriculture. They impact 14,520+ individuals and families in Uganda.
Musana has lived up to its name: it shines on everyone around them.
