EVENT: Saving Pets Challenge 2016
$145,000 -- that's how much OPH has spent THIS YEAR so far on medical needs....we do not say 'no' to the dogs to whom we commit - regardless of medical conditions that arise.
Meet Woodley!!! Can you imagine this sweetie being euthanized because he was heartworm positive?! That was, more than likely, his fate before Operation Paws for Homes rescued him.
Woodley suffered an embolism post-treatment. Woodley was saved through quick action and constant support from the volunteers at OPH. Woodley spent 3 days in emergency care at a high cost. Worth every penny, Woodley now is healthy and living with my daughter in Durham, NC. OPH doesn't discriminate against dogs who would otherwise be passed up because of their breed or health.
This year alone, as of July 1, we have rescued and saved 61 heartworm positive dogs. The heartworm dogs' treatment expenses add to our overall medical expenses yearly. Sadly, without our help, they have little chance of walking out of a shelter - rather, they are escorted to the back room. These dogs deserve a forever family and a healthy life.
If you can spare a little or a lot, we'd greatly appreciate it. Together, we can save more dog's lives who otherwise wouldn't have a chance. By sharing my fundraiser with ALL YOUR friends and contacts, OPH stands a great chance to be recognized as "A Hero of the Michelson Found Animals - Saving Pets Challenge - 2016".
