EARTHQUAKES IN MEXICO
The earthquake in Mexico City dealt all the citizens a heavy blow. Not only is everyone dealing with the death and destruction all around them, they are living with the uncertainty of the predicted aftershocks. This fear is a great pressure on the nervous system.
One of the 3HO sangat wrote, "The situation here is very bad. Many people are without homes and many more homes will have to be demolished. And even now, people are still trapped under collapsed buildings. Our school is closed and my apartment unsafe to live in. There is lots of fear and uncertainty and a general feeling of shock and emptiness."
United Sikhs and the 3HO Sikhs are once again teaming up to provide relief in the face of disaster. Gurvinder Singh of United Sikhs-Sikh Aid, Siri Chand Singh of Sikh Dharma International and the Hari Simran Foundation are working to provide relief efforts on the ground. Joining with the sangat in Mexico City, plans are underway to provide langar in mobile food trucks to the more remote communities and villages around Mexico City who do not have easy access to support.
Join us in our efforts to provide a warm, cooked meal to those who need it most. The cost of a langar truck and food supplies are about $1000 per week, and we are hoping to operate this langar seva for about a month. All proceeds collected go directly to provide food and supplies to the affected areas.

Even though this devastating hurricane is over, the huge project of cleaning up the destruction and repairing homes and businesses has begun. This effort will take months. United Sikhs is providing food, water, supplies and volunteers to help the people of Florida rebuild their homes.
To help with their efforts, we have sent members of our community to assist the work of United Sikhs. Much more is needed to continue to provide food and supplies for this rebuilding effort. Please join us in helping our fellow human beings in putting their lives back together after this destruction to their homes and their communities.
Blessings to All!
