I want to state that I, JO WILLIAMS; do not benefit from any funds that are raised. I am simply volunteering my time to raise monies with the Red Cross. I needed to do something to help (Read my story in the next paragraph). All proceeds go directly to the Red Cross. Look to your right to see where it states the benefiting charity that I am raising money for. PLEASE people, help me make a difference, one family at a time. Donate something. I'd love to see everyone donate $25 or more, but even a small donation of $10 will suffice. Anything that you can please! Every dollar helps! And thank you in advance for your generousity and giving heart.
I am Jo, a mother, wife & child of Christ. I contacted the Red Cross to ask if I could join them in raising money for all the people affected by Hurricane Harvey. I started this fundraiser with the help of the Red Cross so that I could feel like I was doing something to help. I felt helpless watching my TV screen and seeing all those people traveling on foot in muddied waters up to their waist! I knew I had to do something to help!! People have lost their lives. They lost their homes and vehicles. They have NOTHING. Not even their jobs! There is no way for them to bring in any income to provide the basics. People need their prescriptions that they left behind to flee the rising waters. They need their eyeglasses to see. Their children need new toys to make them feel just a little comfort of what life was like before the storm. People need money. Yes donations of clothes and food help out tremendously but money is what we need more. Money to rebuild homes, to replace vehicles lost, to clothe & feed thousands, to get them their medications and health needs met. Let's not forget the animals that are lost from their families and homes. They have no food, no shelter and we need to help them too. We need money donations to help with the clean up after the water is gone. Money to make repairs, to get utility companies up and running again. We need money to give these people a little small fraction of what they lost.
From the American Red Cross:
The threat from Hurricane Harvey is far from over as extremely dangerous flooding continues in Texas and parts of Louisiana. Getting help in some areas will be challenging for some time due to devastating floodwaters and closed roads. This is a heartbreaking and challenging situation for those in the storm’s path and the American Red Cross is working around the clock to provide safe shelter and comfort for the hundreds of thousands of people impacted by this disaster.
You can help people affected by Hurricane Harvey by joining us as a fundraiser or making a donation today. When communities stand up to help others, we can bring hope to families even in their darkest moments Your support helps the Red Cross prepare for, respond to and recover from this disaster. Thank you for all that you do.
