NOVEMBER UPDATE PUERTO RICO CRISIS UPDATE by Dr Alison Thompson
"To date we have delivered 13,000 solar lights throughout Puerto Rico and we wont stop as long as we have your support. In Puerto Rico there are still over 1 million people without power and light"
Thoughts on being Thankful.
Reflecting over the past year of intense hurricanes its hard to know what to say to families who have lost family members, homes and everything close to them.
In spreading this little Solar puff light- its just a small help but it not only lights up a dark spot but we have witnessed first hand the hope and joy it gives as kids and mums and dads and elderly people really get excited to
We also don't just send off the boxes to the unknown but hand deliver each one with a look in the eye and a big hug of love to show people we care. The moment we hold each person many break down in our arms and cry deeply - some for the first time since the destruction. It deeply affects us too as we feel their pain in our arms and carry it home with us.
Today I am Thankful for my own family- for my loving husband in being supportive when I go on these missions to my dog Oliver who gives me great therapy and cuddles with me all day long when I come home to our Third Wave Volunteer family who are the quiet ones from all over the world who work hard delivering the lights to the world-from the Syrian Refugee Crisis to Haiti, Nepal, Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and all over the Caribbean. I am also Thankful for my friend Al Magdaleno from Citizens of the World who helps us daily with all this.
Please Donate to our 501c3 Studio Unite so we can continue lighting up Puerto Rico- It is true we cannot do it without all our donors who are an important part of this journey. We head back to Puerto Rico soon to light up some large deaf communities and many more communities in the dark.
My deep love to you all

I, Al Magdaleno, am from Los Angeles and live in South Florida so I know what it is like to live without light - through earthquakes and hurricanes, as do most South Floridians and Californians.
