Inspired by 5-year-old Julian Boivin's courage during his battle against a deadly brain tumor, his dad, uncles and friends will take on their first Spartan Race in Michigan on Sept. 10, 2017, to raise funds and awareness for Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. The 5-man team will push themselves to tackle 20-23 obstacles over 3-5 miles. All donations will go directly to research grants working to find better treatments and outcomes for the deadliest childhood brain tumors like DIPG and brain stem gliomas.
The Julian Boivin Courage for Cures Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that exists to raise awareness and badly needed funds to arm kids with a fighting chance against the deadliest pediatric brain cancers. We seek out and support the most progressive partnerships and research dedicated to finding cures for devastating brain tumors like Julian’s brain stem glioma, also known as diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas or DIPG. Since 2011, Team Julian has raised more than $600,000 for research and patient programs in the U.S. and abroad with the hope that one day families will no longer have to hear the words, "no known cause or cure."
