Welcome to Breastfest of Champions 2017!
Breastfest of Champions is an annual philanthropy event hosted by Kappa Alpha Order and Kappa Delta University of Maryland chapters. For the past nine years, Kappa Alpha has hosted this event to benefit organizations which support the fight against Breast Cancer. The event was inspired by an organization created by an alumnus’ family after experiencing the loss of a loved one due to breast cancer. This year, Kappa Alpha & Kappa Delta are fundraising directly for Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a private, non-profit institution with research programs focusing on cancer, neuroscience, plant genetics, genomics, and quantitative biology.
Last year, we had over 2,500 students and faculty attend the event, and over 50 sponsoring organizations and companies. Last year's event included food, raffles, live music, a guest speaker, and a “Wall of Champions” where guests could write the names of loved ones who have been affected by breast cancer. Breastfest of Champions 2016 nearly raised $40,000 and we hope for even more this year. This year, Breastfest of Champions will take place on Friday, October 20th at 1 Fraternity Row between 4-7 pm. We hope you all can make it and can't wait to see you there!
