After recently graduating from Bryn Mawr College, I knew I wanted to explore opportunites related to non-profit work and dedicate myself to helping others, which is why I've decided to join the PULSE program in Pittsburgh, PA!
PULSE is a service-year program which cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh. They invite recent college graduates to partner with local nonprofits for a year of service and leadership. PULSE gives me the opportunity to spend a year learning the ins and outs of the local nonprofit world, as well as live in community with other young adults who are also serving with PULSE, and I look forward to applying the skills I've cultivated in college towards giving back to a local community. Check out the PULSE program and learn more about it here: https://pulsepittsburgh.org/.
Part of my first task as a PULSE participant is to assemble a team of people who will support me in this work. As a fellow, PULSE helps to cover my expenses for a year of service and leadership, but just like any non-profit, they rely on donations to maintain the work that they do. So, I am in the process of raising a minimum of $2500 to go towards supporting the mission of PULSE. Anything you can contribute will help support nonprofits that make a real difference in the lives of Pittsburgh residents.
