Today, I am making a pledge. To devote my health to something greater than just myself. In July of this year, I turn 30 years old. An age that for most of my life I have viewed as the beginning of the end. But now, I rebuke that idea wholeheartedly.
I've never been in peak physical condition before, and as such, am making it my goal to do so by age 30. And I am going to use this campaign to motivate myself to see it through, as well as use that motivation to make a difference.
Help keep me motivated by making as generous of a tax deductible charitable donation that you are comfortable and able to the We Restore campaign by Great Plains Restoration Council.
Back in September of last year, I was 6 weeks into a 7-da-a-week 8 week intense physical training program, after having been working out and prepping myself to do so for about a year. I was in the best shape of my life, but only about 1/4 of the of the way up my personal mountain.
I was so enthusiastic about getting in the gym every single day, it was amazing. Then, something dreaded happened. I herniated a disc in my lower back (an issue to which I am genetically predisposed). Everything changed. I tried so hard to stay motivated but the truth that I came to accept was that I had to stay out of the gym to begin the healing process.
I was devastated. The more depressed I became, the more I tried to run from it. I began making decisions and mistakes based on that depression. Today was my third real day back in the gym since then, every time I’ve gone, I’ve gotten scared and not gone back.
But I have to do the next right thing, right now.
I am going to be in the gym, every single day and I am going to share my journey with you all.
Let's take better care of ourselves by taking better care of the planet, and create an endlessly cycle of health and vitality.
Thank you endlessly.
