We are living our seventh year with only memories of Zack. Which are plenty! While we will never forget that day seven years ago when life changed forever for us, it's easier now to call better days to our memory. In this seventh year without him, smiles come more often than tears as we recall his toddler voice from the car seat behind us naming every piece of construction equipment we passed by brand and function; the day he raced his new Kitty-Kat snowmobile for the first time; his forever love of his "dadday" and anything fast -- cars, boats, bikes, whatever; the day he graduated from high school by a wing and a prayer; his appreciation of almost any music genre and his distinct and lovely baritone in the school choir; his appetite for chips and dip and Oreo cookies; the day we braided his hair in dreadlocks; how he could simultaneously giggle and laugh loud; and, his smile. Wow, he had a heart-stopping smile! He's still everywhere. He's in every still moment. He's at every family or school event. He's in those sometimes painful Facebook memories. He's the driver behind everything we've learned about suicide -- it's prevalence in our society, how it might be prevented and how to navigate the far-reaching and daily waves and ripples that result from it. Zack is once again front and center on the t-shirts we will wear to honor his memory on Saturday, August 17th to help Stomp Out Suicide! Thanks for joining us and supporting this work in any way you can.
