RESPONDING TO COVID-19
Giving Tuesday Now is a global day of giving and unity developed as an emergency response to COVID-19. We invite you to join the thousands of Canadians demonstrating the power of generosity today as we come together and give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by this global pandemic. Please consider supporting YWCA Edmonton as we respond to the COVID-19 crisis. We’ve adapted our services to ensure:
Those in need of affordable mental health support have access to our psychologists via telepsychology sessions.
Front-line staff can continue supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and medical fragility.
GirlSpace youth programs are delivered directly into girls’ homes through their laptops and phones.
People needing sexual health support can speak directly to an expert via Live Chat through our website.
We are also collaborating with other agencies, shelters and governments to address the alarming rise of domestic violence experienced by families in isolation. YWCA Edmonton is working diligently to limit COVID-19’s impact on the vulnerable women and families we’ve proudly served since 1907.
You can help us be a part of the solution:
$25 can provide one girl with the opportunity to connect with her peers in a virtual GirlSpaceZ session.
$100 would support our work to collaborate and coordinate with partner agencies to address domestic violence.
$200 could provide a fully subsidized counselling session to someone in desperate need of affordable mental health counselling.
Having the generous, timely support of friends like you will go a long way to helping us fight this pandemic on our frontlines and ensure that our clients receive the care they need. Your thoughtful gift will also lift our spirits during these challenging times, knowing the community has our back. We can’t thank you enough for your help!
