PLEASE WATCH (less than 3 min.) and share the video from our Youth Board, kicking off our Campaign for Civility! Due to their passion, large student groups are already asking to host our civility workshops and clinics...but events require resources such as printed materials, venue fees, etc.
What we HAVE: volunteers, content, speakers, big audiences (expecting well over 200 in one case), and "in-kind" donations (such as catering). What we NEED: you! Consider giving even $10 to help MATCH what we, the Board of Directors and volunteers, have contributed. Every dollar you can match is a show of support for the work we are doing and it is like seeing your family and friends line the road with encouraging signs as you're running a marathon. And we are in it for the long haul!
"People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don't know each other; they don't know each other because they have not communicated with each other."
~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The YSCA is committed to engaging young people in cultivating the tangible tools they need to create safer and more civilized communities for the future.
We do this by training young people (and the adults who work with them) to employ strategies in:
1. safety & situational awareness
2. de-escalation,
3. civil discourse,
4. conflict-resolution,
5. and community-building.
Contact us to learn more about hosting a Civility Workshop or Clinic and also ask about our security assessments and trainings.
