As most of you already know, I love to run the Boston Marathon. I have run it since 1998 and have missed a small handful of them in that time period. I love running long distances and enjoy training because it allows me to spend quality time with friends, helps me deal with stress, and keeps me in shape. I would feel like I was missing something in my life if I didn't train for and run the Boston Marathon each year.
This year, I decided that I would run for a charity. I wanted to choose a non-profit that was small and could effectively use the money that I raised - that is why I chose YouthConnect. I plan to support its effort in reducing juvenile crime by helping at-risk youth make positive choices and help strengthen struggling family units. YouthConnect is an innovative program that is part of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston in partnership with the Boston Police Department. Licensed clinical social workers are placed inside Boston Police stations that experience the highest rates of youth arrests, providing voluntary community-based counseling, intervention, and advocacy services to young people and their families who are in crisis or experiencing acute problems. Please visit to learn more about YouthConnect's critical and impactful work!As I run the Marathon on April 20, you will be with me in spirit (I need something to think about for 4 hours!), and your support will help me run stronger and faster to the finish line. Whatever dollar amount you can contribute matters…it all adds up! Thank you.
