Progressive Beulah Pentecostal Church, for the last 20 plus years, has been pastored by a former social worker from the Chicago Public Schools system. Of course, the heartbeat of Pastor Thomas Barclay has been to make necessary changes in his community. The latest project is a youth community center – a place for young people to come for fun and safety. Progressive has proved its concern and trust in the community by its work and its relationship with the community members and city leaders. Their focus has been on recovery for drug and alcohol addicted individuals and homelessness.
Another form of drug ministry is prevention, and prevention needs to happen early – with children and teenagers. Please consider being a part of the solution for the Auburn Gresham community of the south side of Chicago.
***This project is also a fundraising management project for a graduate student in the city of Chicago, seeking to complete her master’s degree program this summer. Your assistance is a worthy triple impact – the student, the church, and the youth this is created for. The student needs all data by Thursday, February 27, 2020. Of course, it's both possible to reach or not reach the goal by then, but the fundraising will go on beyond that date. Any amount will be helpful for both the student and the church.
The total raised here is a portion of what will go toward the purchase/closing of the building in April 2020.
Additional information can be provided on the goals of the fundraiser, vision for the community center, history of the church, and background of the Pastor.
We thank you dearly for your help.
