As many of know, our family has been blessed with a special young lady named Cahrin. Cahrin was about 6 mo. Old when she was diagnosed with a rare brain disorder that resulted in an inability to walk, talk, or have very good motor function. This, however, never held her back from enjoying life and embracing her childhood and teen years. During her younger years Cahrin had the opportunity to join an amazing organization called Youth Challenge. The activities, trips and experiences that she was able to be a part of helped build her confidence and provide life long memories for her.
Youth challenge is nonprofit organization that brings together young people with physical disabilities and teen volunteers who inspire each other through adapted sports, recreation and social growth activities. They provide free transportation and programs to over 200 young people with physical disabilities and have over 400 free year-round activities throughout northeast Ohio. They rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and organizations to fund their services and teen volunteers with a heart for serving. In other words it takes a village to provide these wonderful opportunities for these young people. To read more about Youth Challenge you can visit their website http://www.youthchallengesports.com/.
On May 19th I will be running the Cleveland Rite Aid Marathon in honor of these awesome youth and the organization that provides great fun and memories for them. I also am raising funds to support Youth Challenge to continue to provide these activities to the community. Please consider donating to a great cause. I'm running for the Youth!
