Without supervision, being a kid alone is scary. But it doesn't have to be.
In 2020, The Healthy Youth USA Foundation will embark on a $1.5 million Capital Campaign to house the growing need for life changing recreational and after school services to minority elementary age students and their families living in the North Springs school district of Atlanta, Georgia.
Over the last 15 years, our facility consisting of a shared church space has become a community staple. Our signature program, “The After School Club” and “Summer Camp” has changed the trajectory of thousands of families; however the needle has not shifted enough. Our world is changing, and our community has continued to grow; thereby creating greater need, responsibilities and challenges for providers such as us. Within these challenges lie our opportunity to expand beyond the shared church space and increase our capacity to serve.
Please partner with us in building a youth center that is sure to bring Real Equality, opportunity, and change to a community of families that need it.
This Campaign will allow the HYUSA Foundation to:
· Build a Youth Center in the North Springs Community to keep kids safe! Especially during out of school hours that accommodates educational programming, gymnasium and auxiliary spaces for various recreational and art and science services.
The Youth Center provides an environment that provides mentors, support, guidance and friendship; while expanding employment services, collaborative programming and offer family empowerment services such as counseling and health and fitness training.
· Increase the foundation’s capacity to service up to more youth and families using this customized developed facility as the main hub that will deploy staff and house services daily; all year round.
· Expand services to not only children who attend North Springs cluster schools but will become a community center for all children in the entire city of Sandy Spring, Dunwoody and surrounding geographical areas.
