Explore. Experience. Evolve.
Some of you may know that I am participating in the Chicago Marathon for the 2nd time. I was lucky enough to get selected to participate but I wanted to also show some love for one of my favorite organizations - My Block, My Hood, My City (M3). If you aren't familiar with M3 or Jahmal Cole, you definitely should be. This organization promotes exposure as a form of education and evolution. It can be hard to relate and empathize with some one that has different experiences than your own and M3 works to bridge relationships in hopes that we can all work together to make Chicago and the world a better place.
Some of the ways that M3 promotes that we are for and learn about each other are:
-Creating community gardens
-Setting up excursions for Chicago youth to explore and experience outside of their communities (Explorer's Program)
-Learning about different neighborhoods through weekly runs that incorporate facts about the area
-Delivering water & fans on hot days
-Shoveling driveways and sidewalks for elderly
-Maintaining neighborhoods through clean up, painting, lawn care, etc. (One Block at a Time)
-Highlighting community leaders
-SO. MUCH. MORE
If you are willing & able, I would love for you to show support of my participation in the marathon and the programs of My Block, My Hood, My City by making a donation of any size. If you are unable to donate, please take a moment to explore the M3 website and see if you can participate in any of the events that help make Chicago a better place through caring for one another.
Thanks you & much love,
