Hello, I am very excited that on January 3rd, 2019, I was finally able to make my lifetime dream a reality and establish a California nonprofit public benefit organization where my team and I can provide low-cost counseling services ($10 an hour) to all members of the community so they can live happier, more hopeful lives. I am Simone Lundquist and have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I have taught at different colleges and universities for over 30 years and currently teach at San Jose State University. Through my decades of serving community members at mental health gencies, I have, sadly, witnessed that clients take their diagnosis as a lifetime sentence, give up on their goals and dreams while they continue suffering from symptoms and isolating from the society.
I have invested all that I have in this nonprofit and am working round the clock to keep it up and running. At Open Doors to Future Possibilities, Inc., we offer our community members an alternative which has not existed before; a Counseling Center where our clients feel heard, seen, understood, respected, without being labeled, diagnosed or prescribed any medication. Our goal is to help strengthen the hope and resilience of our community members by making it possible for them to give new meanings to their past experiences and create new beginnings and opportunities for their future.
We are advocating for and serving many underserved individuals and families with success and have many projects where we serve the Veterans, abused women, those dignosed with schizophrenia, disadvantaged kids and teens and members of LGBTQ and more. Due to the overwhelming need and rush of clients, we need to lease another suite and hire more professionals to be able to help more of our community members.
You can make a difference in the lives of our underserved community members. We can't continue our service without your help and support. Together we can make history! Please help us help more people and continue to strengthen the hope and resilience of our vulnerable communities in Santa Clara County and beyond.
