Dear Friends, Families, and Alumni of the Youth Choral Theater of Chicago,
The Youth Choral Theater of Chicago, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is coping with uncertainty. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to hold our final two performances of our 35th season, including our Wine & Song fundraising concert. Due to the loss of revenue, we have worked to eliminate as many costs as possible, yet minimal operational expenses, including salaries, storage rental, and accounting fees remain unfunded. While we are grateful for the few donations that have come in this spring, we have been unable to secure additional funding through grants.
All non-profit organizations are facing uncertainty while maneuvering through COVID-19 and changing safety precautions. In this current crisis, our revenue has dropped to zero. Your donations are more important than ever in order to ensure the continuation of our choral music community for generations to come. Your support can help YCT survive so that we can continue to encourage our students to share their voices.
Please enjoy this virtual choir video that our students and staff created this spring. We believe that in-person learning is where our organization is most effective and we acknowledge that engaging in e-learning was challenging for us all. As a staff, we’ve found ourselves reminiscing about special performances. One of our most beloved songs was “Somewhere in my Memory,” which you can view above.
We hope you will remember us during this challenging time. We eagerly look forward to the moment when it will be safe for us to sing together. Stay well!
