It started with a dream... Bring the first EVER dedicated small animal clinic to the Caribbean island of Nevis! Almost 7 years later we made that dream a reality and in our first year we saw over 1,000 new patients and saw more than double that in cases. That's the good news...
As a low-cost, nonprofit, our patients and their families are often in difficult financial situations but we have devoted ourselves to making sure that NO dog or cat will go without necessary medical care. For years we have been fundraising to help with our basic needs, but now we need help more than EVER!
Weekly we see critical needs patients, both cared for and stray, whose diagnosis and life often depend on a simple X-ray! We have already raised $15,000 toward our goal but the cases keep coming and we still need $30,00 to purchase and ship the X-ray machine to Nevis.
* CASE #1- Small dog came in with assumed intestinal blockage, but without an X-ray we could only treat the symptoms. 5 days later the dog tragically died a painful death from a small nut he had eaten that got stuck in his intestines. Had we been able to X-ray him, we could have performed his lifesaving surgery.
* CASE #2- Rescued 2 year old cat came in with a painful and swollen front leg that was unable to move or bear weight. Only able to treat the symptoms, this sweet cat is now facing AMPUTATION of her leg as we could not get the diagnosis we needed to properly help her.
* CASE #3- A stray puppy was hit by a car and left on our doorstep in the middle of the night. By morning it was clear there was severe trauma but the puppy was fighting to live. With the ability of an X-ray to determine the internal damage , we may have been able to save him, but all we could do was ultimately ease his suffering until he was gone.
CASES #4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 etc...
PLEASE HELP US TO HELP THEM AS THESE CASES COME IN MULTIPLE TIMES PER WEEK!
With your help, we know we can bring this life saving peice of technology to our country's animals for the first time in history!
Wishing you good health and safety for you and those who depend on you, and thank you for anything you can do to help us help those who need us.
