Grandma's House is an afterschool tutoring program for at-risk students in grades K-6. This program was started in 2008. The staff, both adults and high school mentors are volunteers. We provide instruction in reading and language arts. Our high school mentors provide homework support for students who need it.
In August 2017, we opened Grandma's House Preschool and Family Resource Center where we provide preschool and child care for children ages 2 - 5, based upon the needs of parents and the students, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
By June 2018, the modular building for the 7th and 8th grade on-line math academy will be installed. This facility will provide instruction and math support for middle school children.
We are not state or federally funded. We are a 501 C-3 non-profit. Fundraisers, grants and donations support our program. Our plan is to apply for state and or fineral money. But at this time......
We need your help! We have an opportunity to compete for a large grant through USA Today's, "A Community Thrives", but we need your help to raise the $3,000 in order to compete for the larger grant. If we raise the $3,000, we will be in the running for the larger amounts.
We are, "Building a Bridge for Future Generations". Our mission is to educate, support and empower youth today for tomorrow. Please support us!
