Last year we started the Walsh Ride Against Cancer (WRAC) in memory of our mother, Margie Walsh. She meant the world to us and unfortunately was taken too soon after a short but courageous battle with cancer. We will be riding to celebrate her beautiful life in the hopes of bringing people together to honor her and the lives of others who are fighting, have fought, or have had their lives cut short by this terrible disease.
We chose Father’s Day weekend because it is the weekend we always spent camping together as a family. Mom valued this time with her family and close friends.
We are looking for volunteers to help us in a variety of areas- riders, family and friends to help us celebrate this great woman and raise a lot of money for the fight against cancer.
We will begin in Waukee and end in Jefferson with several stops along the way, including Dallas Center, Minburn, Perry and a few gravel roads that some of us have seen once or twice before.
The ride will end in Jefferson where there is the Wild Rose Casino and Hotel and a Super 8. Our lifelong camping location, Spring Lake, is just a few miles outside of Jefferson.
We invite you to join us for all or part of the ride.
