Women's March Youth Empower is asking for your support as we mobilize youth of this nation to harness our strength and voices to enact change for the Enough! Youth Week of Action the week of March 11.
One year ago, on March 14, 2018, Youth Empower organized the Enough! National School Walkout to demand safety from gun violence in our schools and communities. A record 1.6 million students walked out in 4470 locations all across the country, including places the media classifies as "Trump country". This was the largest decentralized single day protest in the history of this country. Together, we harnessed our power to demand sensible gun regulations.
This year, we are sending a clear message that youth aren't going anywhere until there is change. Our 200 Youth Empower chapters are banding together with individual art actions during the week of March 11. On March 14, youth will be leading town halls to hold their elected officials accountable for their stance on gun regulation.
Our partners for this action include Students Demand Action, Rock The Vote, Newtown Action Alliance and Jr. Newtown Action Alliance, Youth Over Guns and The National Council of Jewish Women.
We have seen a resurgence in young people wanting to make their voices heard and refusing to sit by while adults make decisions that do not reflect what matters to youth. We demand a seat at the table and will stop at nothing to ensure that the country we inherit is one that values justice, humanity and love. Please support our work today.
