Today, Oct. 23, is National Wear it Pink Day. Why? Because Breast Cancer is still here. It’s still tearing apart the lives of families and it’s still taking the lives of the women we love. They need our support. It shows that we stand in solidarity. Support the fighters Admiring the survivors. Honoring the taken and never, ever giving up HOPE!
Women Making Waves has partnered with an amazing Artist, Brittany Metka. Brittany’s true love for art flourished in high school when she took her first formal class. She went on to receive a BFA in Art Education from the University of Illinois (2009). Brittany’s experiences teaching young children taught her the purity and essence of intuitive art. Brittany is known as one of the most popular artists on artrade.co. She has been showcased at events in Bogotá, has exhibited in Boho Expo and Open San Felipe, and has art collectors around the globe.
We will be auctioning off one of her pieces from her Amo Mis Tetas series & we will be donating to the American Cancer Society in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and National Wear Pink Day! These miniature portraits of women's torsos, real or imagined, is a cry to fill our minds and hearts with self-love, confidence, and pride in who we are NOW! Self-development and life-long learning is important but self-acceptance and self-esteem are key to true happiness.
Please donate and the person with the highest donation will work closely with the artist for a custom one of a kind painting!
Today I would like to remember my Nana McCormick, who was a Breast Cancer survivor and to all the women (and men) who are diagnosed with cancer. Makes waves and donate today and win a one of a kind painting from Britney's series, Amo Mis Tetas.
Include your name with each donation so we can track the highest donation to win a painting.
