Did you know that:
3 out of 4 children who miss out on primary education are girls?
2 out of 3 adults who cannnot read are women?
98% of families who live below the poverty line have not completed high school?
The message is clear: Much work remains to be done to achieve gender equality in education. We need to take action - we owe it to the girls and women of today, and those of future generations.
Leading up to Cisco's Giving Tuesday, Women of Meraki is excited to support the Asian University for Women (AUW) and it's work to empower Women Leaders Today, Women Leaders tomorrow.
Our ask of you is to donate today to support these women to become the world’s next leaders. Our $15,0000 goal goes to supporting one student for one full year at the university.
AUW is an independent, international university in Chittagong, Bangladesh seeking to educate a new generation of leaders in Asia. AUW admits students solely based on merit, regardless of their family’s income level, and nearly all students are on a full scholarship. The University is committed to graduating women leaders who will tackle their countries’ social, economic, and political issues while collaborating across cultural, ethnic, and religious lines.
Scholarships are essential to AUW’s mission, allowing them to serve talented women with few opportunities, regardless of their ability to pay.
Are you looking to take your support one step further? Join the AUW Mentorship Program as a mentor to enhance students’ academic experience and personal growth.
