Cervical cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related death for the indigenous women in Chiapas, Mexico. However, cervical cancer is also the most preventable. A simple screen can be the factor between life and death.
12 Mexican women die of cervical cancer every day, a number that can be drastically lowered by providing women with increased access to cervical cancer screenings.
It is Humanity First's mission's objective to raise awareness and to offer these screens. Our mobile camps provide permanent knowledge and a chance to prevent cancer or treat it before it becomes deadly, and influence the culture of health over time by empowering mothers.
Our mission will provide:
- free cervical cancer screenings and exams
- free treatment for common infections -free advice and consultations with nurses and local doctors
-free blood pressure check-free general medications like pain pills, supplements and regulative medications as needed
-free diagnosis and treatment for symptomatic children. While ladies wait to be seen, we will be providing short educational workshops on vital topics like Women's Nutrition, Domestic Violence, Mental Health, Cervical cancer/Breast cancer, and more, and are also planning on sponsoring 5 pregnant women with a 6-month (or more) supply of vitamin shake.
The money we fundraise also goes towards medication, general supplies, antibiotics, pain relievers, supplies, and camp logistic needs.
Every dollar directly makes a great impact! These women and children are the future of their country and communities, and with some basic assistance, which we take for granted living here, we can help preserve that future and give the gift of hope and health.
