Founded in 2013, For Goodness Sake is a 100% volunteer-led, non-profit furniture bank, that provides donated furniture and household goods to people coming out of homelessness. Our core belief is that EVERYONE deserves a warm bed at night and the assorted items that transform four walls into a home.
Through hard work and an INCREDIBLE volunteer group, we are proud to say we have helped over 1400 families get back on their feet and those numbers are climbing weekly!
With so many families being displaced due to Covid-19; job loss, domestic violence survivors, people struggling with addiction, and mental health issues, our services are needed more than ever. Families and social service agencies are inundating us for relief and we are struggling to keep up with the demand.
In May, we were able to re-open our doors but were forced to cancel our 7th annual main fundraiser, Plate at the Table, which usually raises around $30k, covering our annual operating costs. Without that money, we are struggling to keep our doors open
So this is our ask. We DESPERATELY NEED to get as close as we can to that 30k number to keep our doors open and continue to offer this critical support to our communities.
When we started For Goodness Sake, we did so under the premise that PEOPLE WANT TO HELP PEOPLE, you just have to show them how.
Thank you so much for WHATEVER you can do to help.
