Women in Training, Inc., or WIT, addresses the need of poverty in our community. According to the Alabama Possible 2019 Poverty Data Sheet, more than 800,000 Alabamians, including 262,000 children, live below the federal poverty threshold. Alabama’s poverty rate of 16.9% is more than three points higher than the national average of 13.4%.
Breanna and Brooke Bennett, the 13-year-old founders of Women in Training, plan to give away 100 Thanksgiving WITKITS boxes of turkeys and groceries to provide healthy meals to families suffering from poverty and poor nutrition.
Please give as you can.
