Join us in supporting the individuals at the heart of our fight against COVID-19 - our Direct Support Professionals. Because of these brave, compassionate, and dedicated men and women, the individuals we support at The Arc of Dutchess continue to receive the high-quality supports that they need to live full lives, even as the agency continues to navigate through uncertainty.
While those on the front-line are thanked often, DSP's and other human services workers are not given the same recognition or the same access to resources as healthcare workers or other #essentialemployees. Here at The Arc of Dutchess, we want to do something about it. So we've created two opportunities to help our DSP's. NO MATTER THE SIZE OF YOUR GIFT, 100% OF YOUR DONATION WILL BE DIRECTED TO THE FUND OF YOUR CHOICE AND WILL MAKE A DIRECT IMPACT:
DONATE TO THE MEAL FUND: We aim to provide meals to the individuals working in the 15 residential programs as often as we can. This makes their job easier - since they don't have to worry about preparing meals for the individuals in the homes - and ensures they get a yummy meal while they are working to protect our individuals. Your funds help support this small gesture of thanks that shows our DSP's that they MATTER.
DONATE TO THE ACTIVITY FUND: Because of COVID-19, our site-based Day Habilitation programs moved into our residential programs, with our DSP's rising to the occasion by providing innovative activities in the homes of those we support. You can donate to help us purchase items necessary to create vibrant programming (like craft supplies, puzzles, sensory objects, etc). These items are specifically recommended by the staff and individuals in the residential programs to help build skills and keep minds engaged...and to have FUN!
No matter how you choose to support our agency, your support shows our DSP's that they matter, now more than ever. Thank you for your support!
