Partner with us on our mission to giveaway 25,000 backpacks to kids in Atlanta Public Schools.
Every backpack will have supplies and a copy of
WISEUP Adventure Series Chris & Key Go Vote, a nonpartisan book teaching the superpower of voting. Young readers and their parents will learn the voting process in a simple way by completing a fun voter registration card and casting a ballot for their favorite color.
Just this year, lawmakers in 48 states including Georgia, have introduced bills that would make it harder to vote. The majority of the kids in Atlanta Public Schools live in underserserved and economically disadvantaged communities. Teaching these kids and their parents how to vote with an interactive children’s book is a new and direct way to increase future voter participation and fight against voter suppression efforts.
In 2020, Wise Smith ran for District Attorney in Atlanta where he met many people who believed their votes didn’t matter. Recognizing this as a byproduct of voter suppression, he set out on a mission to educate the next generation, our kids, about the incredible power they have – a superpower! – of voting for elected officials to represent them in government.
With WISEUP Adventure Series Chris & Key Go Vote, our kids will know that their votes will make a difference one day soon!
We’ll visit 44 Atlanta Public elementary schools to distribute the backpacks, provide a pizza party for the school, and provide appreciation gifts for the teachers to bolster positivity, education, and civic engagement in our community.
We can't do it without you.
