The Wisconsin Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Association is dedicated to protecting and championing the needs of abused and neglected children. As a member of the National CASA Association, our mission is to support volunteer advocacy for children who are living under the protection of the courts and child welfare agencies until they can be safe at home or until a safe and permanent home is found for them.
Wisconsin CASA does not itself provide direct services to children; our role is to support Wisconsin's 11 local CASA programs, encourage program expansion, and support the start-up of new programs. We do that by cultivating resources, working to improve collaboration, and by encouraging public policy that advances the safety, permanence and well-being of Wisconsin's children.
Our goal with this fundraiser is to kick-off a statewide campaign to give every CASA child in Wisconsin their own suitcase to hold their belongings. Often when a child travels from foster home to foster home, they carry their belongings in a garbage bag. Not only will the suitcases give the children a sense of protecting their belongings, but will also provide a sense of pride and ownership.
Each suitcase will include personal care and hygiene items that they may not otherwise have. Whether the donation size is $5, $500 or anything in between, your donation will help provide Wisconsin children with a suitcase, pajamas, pillow, blanket, stuffed animal, books and toiletries.
