Winter Feral Cat Shelters - November the Month of Giving
Every year, we throw a feral cat shelter building event in October in celebration of National Feral Cat day. Unfortunately, this year we had to postpone this truly life saving event due to having an overwhelming year of high vetting costs which left little funds to buy the supplies that we need to build the shelters. However, this event is crucial and these shelters are the life and death difference in our community cat's lives. This year we are asking you for the month of November, the month of giving, if you would kindly donate towards our shelter building campagin so we can buy the needed supplies for this event.
By giving to our Feral Cat Winter Shelter Build event, you'll be able to help us save countless of homeless cat's / kitten's lives and protect them from our brutal Chicago winter elements.
This year, our goal is to build the usual amount of 100 shelters as we always do, although we would love to be able to surpass that goal like last year and do 200, (100 for purchase by a donation, 100 for free to low/no income community members). The shelters that WTRF makes are solid and well sought after amongst caretakers as they are super durable and well insulated. We already have people on a wait list patiently to get their hands on them.
As we do every year, we ask for a $30.oo donation for the purchase of the shelters, unless you buy 3 or more which the donation amount drops down to $25.00 each. We will also be providing free shelters to low/no income caretakers as we do every year. Not only that, but did you know that WTRF provides free cat food to low/no income caretakers? We sure do. So this year we will be alotting a time that people can come and get shelters and they will also be given some food. All the monies raised from the purchased shelters goes back to help cover the cost for the vetting of cats who need TNR or TNA.
We hope that we can count on your November month of giving donation to make this year's shelter build a success.
