In December, the U10/Squirt edition of the first annual 3v3 Charity Cup was a great success, raising almost $1,400 for Hockey Fights Cancer, with a fun time had by players and parents across all WYH U10/Squirt teams.
We are now happy to announce the U12/Peewee edition for Friday, January 31st!
Here are the details:
When: Friday January 31st, 6:15pm – 9pm
Where: Holland Arena, 270 Salem Street, Woburn
Who: 4 teams of 9 players (3 lines) plus one goalie. The event is limited to 40 players in total. Active U12/PW Winchester Youth Hockey players only.
Why: The Winchester Youth Hockey 3v3 Charity Cup was created to have a fun, annual event that brings together WYH players and parents across teams and raises awareness and donations for a charitable cause.
Unfortunately, most of us know someone we care about who has battled cancer. This year’s WYH Charity Cup events will benefit Hockey Fights Cancer: https://www.nhl.com/community/hockey-fights-cancer.
What: Hockey Fights Cancer was founded in 1998 by the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players’ Association. Since its inception, the Hockey Fights Cancer program has resulted in donations of more than $20 million to support the cancer programs of local and national cancer research institutions, children's hospitals, player charities, and local charities.
How to Play: Players who register commit to a $20 payment, with all proceeds going to Hockey Fights Cancer.
Winning team will be awarded the WYH Charity Cup trophy to parade around the ice! We look forward to a fun evening to raise money for a great cause!
