Dear Friend,
As you know I'm a huge fan & supporter of Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts (JASM) and the wonderful work that that this organization does in educating our students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy to over 5,000 students this 2018-2019 school year in grades K-12 throughout southeastern Massachusetts not to mention the annual JA TITAN Business Challenge and JA SPARK events. All of these programs cost money though, so I have volunteered to be an 'Ironman' player, which means that I must raise at least $1,500 on behalf of JASM for its annual IRONMAN tournament to benefit JASM which is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization (EIN #: 04-3193575). Now in its 22nd year, the IRONMAN Golf Charity has grown into a phenomenon among charitable golf tournaments. Last year, the IRONMAN Golf Championship brought in $75,000 – a result of the efforts of over 70 participants, who ranged from local business owners to corporate leaders – which helped us provide vital financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness courses to the students in our service area. In the last 21 years, the IRONMAN Tournament has raised over one million dollars for JA programs, impacting more than 50,000 students! You can support my efforts for JASM with a donation through this online site or you may also send a check made out to 'JA of Southern Massachusetts" to my attention at JA's offices located at 128 Union Street, Suite 304, New Bedford, MA 02740. The deadline for donations is May 31st. I am asking my friends and family to make a contribution to this worthy cause. Together with Junior Achievement, we can give local students a better chance at a brighter future. Thank you for your support and I will do my best to make you proud for having supported me. Sincerely,
Will Mendonca
